OOHome: Hardware Interface

Provides the basic API and hardware abstraction layers to communicate with the "computer interface" module that's the core of the lighting control systems. There are two basic interfaces that can be used from this library: the low-level PowerLinc class and the DeviceManager class.

PowerLinc

This class represents the fundamental operations that can be done with a PowerLinc controller interface.

Features

• Supports almost all IBIOS commands directly
• Simple JMX MBean

DeviceManager

This API is more suitable for usage in applications as it abstracts the actual control operations into a fairly simple, but thorough set of methods.

Features

• Uses more OO-oriented objects/methods (e.g. Scene and Module operations)
• Module state-change notifications (as opposed to "raw" events)
• Automated status-request operations
• Cached module memory data (prevents lots of round-trips to the remote devices)
• Existing hardware and scene discovery

Utilities

There are some utilities (runnable applications) bundled in with this library:

• Device and scene "Crawler"
• Simple JMX Monitor
